    bug Tax Calculating Incorrectly

The tax in my store seems to be calculating incorrectly. Specifically it adds 7.25% on top of whatever the real tax is.

The store is based out of Ohio, so to get around the different tax rates for each county, I have the user select the county when they create their account. I have zones for each county and definitions for each tax rate ranging from 6%-7.5%.

I did a test with an address in our same county (Stark) where the tax rate is 6% and it calculated the tax at 13.25% (I had to reverse engineer the total to find what it was really calculating)

I then did another test from an address in Pike county where the tax rate is 7% and it calculated the tax at 14.25%

Any idea why this is happening? Is there another tax field somewhere that gets combined with the standard tax rate?

The website is located at www.lhtp.com/Store and is not open to the public yet.

    Thanks

Update: I did a test from an out of state address, and got charged 7.25% tax. Is there a global tax setting I'm missing?

Update 2: My 7.25% Zone Definition is the only one that has 0 zones associated with it.

Okay I got it working correctly by deleting my 7.25% Zone Definition, since it was empty and unused anyway. My conclusion is that if there is an empty zone definition then everything uses it in addition to whatever it's currently using. Can anyone confirm this?

No, a tax rate is only applied if it's associated with a tax class tied to products/services.

Glad you got it sorted out by removing unused items.
