... and is there a way to fix it?
What I mean is if a customer has a yahoo mail account they do not get the welcome to our site e-mail and an error appears.
If I was a customer I would then not buy from a company that I got such an error from because I would assume they are not very professional if thier e-mail set up is not working.
Yahoo has very strict rules about how emails arrive. It is not uncommon for emails to be rejected by them.
The more important issue though is ... *what* error message are you getting?

That's likely a result of Yahoo rejecting your incoming email.
They might be rejecting it because of the server you're coming from (ie: your webserver/mailserver might be blacklisted).
They might be rejecting it based on the email content/format.
You can try to check out your Email Server details via dnsstuff.com
For the most part, rejected emails are a result of mailserver-to-mailserver misconfiguration or communication problems.
