    Default Shopping Cart not Updating

    Hello,
    Zen is killing me, every time a customer adds a item to their cart, Zen adds it fine. The customer leaves the site and returns, all previous items are in basket, they delete them and start shopping again. After they add a new item, all the original items appear again. Again they delete them; leave the site and return, all previous add items are there again.

    Anybody have any suggestions?

    It sounds like the data is being removed from the session, but not from the database. Check that your database user has the correct permissions to remove the data from the relevant tables.

    Thanks Absolute,
    One other stange thing, when I update a setting in the admin panel, like a layout setting, it takes around 3 min for it to display on the web page.

    Two things to check are that your host is updating a real-time database, and that you don't have a cached page.

    Firstly - live databases - there are "free" MySQL services out there which use clustered database, which update every few minutes, rather than in real-time. Steer clear of these!

    Secondly, ensure that everytime you refresh a page, you are clearing the cache first. In IE, press ctrl+F5 to refresh with cleared cache. In FF, Ctrl+Shift+Delete, and select Cache, before refreshing a page. This is the most common and most likely problem.
