Question about the category url

When we click on any of the categories, we get the url as

index.php?main_page=index&cPath=74

I have this shop where category urls are like

index.php?main_page=index&cPath=cPath=74

But still when clicking on categories they work properly
Is this normal?
And what happened to the cart that category url have cPath=cPath=74
Can someone tell me the file where this url is generated

Also, I changed category url to look like

index.php?main_page=index&cPath=cPath=cPath=74
and they still work properly
Can someone explain please?
