Different prices for different quantities

possibly i haven't run across this anywhere yet....still a newbie!!
my client wants to do a quantity pricing table...like this
1-4 : $179
5-9 : $174
10-19 : $169
20-49 : $164
50-99 : $159
100-199 : $154

is that possible? and where is it?

When looking at the Products in the Admin ... you will see the $ or from the menu you can pick the Product Price Manager ...

There is a section where when you are Editing the Product you can add an unlimited number of Price breaks to a Product on a Per Product basis ...

When looking at the Products in the Admin ... you will see the $ or from the menu you can pick the Product Price Manager ...

There is a section where when you are Editing the Product you can add an unlimited number of Price breaks to a Product on a Per Product basis ...

If I go to product price manager and click on edit product, I don't see a price breaks box? It asks for product price net and gross, but I don't see an area where i can do price breaks...

have i gone blind? :cool:

Don't click on Edit Product ...

Look at the page again and there is a section reading:
Preview Only ... Current Price Status ... Preview Only
EDIT button
Click to begin Editing ...

Click on that EDIT button ...

Then you will see a section for:
Add 5 Blank Qty Discounts:
Add Blank Discount button
All 0 Quantity Discounts will be removed when Updated

so in the first box discount level 1, minimum quantity, i put in 1...discount value i leave as 0.0000
discount level 2, minimum quantity I put in 5...discount value is 5.00
and discount level 3, minimum quantity is 10..discount value is 5.00

or do the discount values add up from the main price? ie, main price is $179, but if they buy 10, they get $10 off the price - do i put in the $10 or add it up from the $5.00 from before...does that make sense or am i making this harder than it needs to be...(a tendency of mine i admit)

Can this be used for different products in different categories?

e.g.
Category A from product/supplier A, price £10
Category B from product/supplier A, price £10
Category C from product/supplier A, price £10

Bought individually they come to £30, but buy them all together on the same order and pay £25!

Or to push the boundary further,

Category A from product/supplier A, price £10
Category B from product/supplier B, price £10
Category C from product/supplier B, price £10

Again bought as individual items, the cost is £30 but buy them all together on th same order and pay just £25!

Is it possible to offer quantity discounts on products only under group discounts? If so please point me in the right directions.

Adding to a previous comment, how can we set up a single price policy (with discounts for quantity) for a product group as opposed to a single product?

agamemnus, the mechanism for doing this is the Quantity Discounts contribution from the downloads page.

Ok, I don't think this is going to work. I want to set prices, not price discounts, and I want it available for viewing immediately not at some second screen and not as a discount... Doesn't look like there are any already existing extensions for this.

I guess I could always copy/clone items, but...

Did you look on the Attribute for the Quantity Discount to see if that will manage this discount on the Attribute itself for you?
