Warning errors trying to login to admin - no such file or directory

According to the error message, the specified file appears to be missing.

Start by re-uploading this file includes/functions/functions_customers.php

I re-uploaded and still receiving the same error message. (As mentioned, I reinstalled 1.3.8 and that didn't fix the problem so I have really screwed something up!) Other suggestions?

Using your FTP program, please list all the files in your /admin/includes/functions folder ... (on the server, not your PC).

And your /includes/functions folder. (on the server again)

When you uploaded your addon files, did you put things in the correct destination folders?
Have you copied some files to wrong folders?

You might have to check each folder for extra files by comparing everything against your master set of files on your PC. This article talks about that:

To answer the second question first...yes, I put some files in the wrong folders (I always seem to mess up the /includes and admin/includes) That is why I tried to re-install, hoping to correct that. I will work on the file comparison next.

Thanks for the help--I compared the files with WinMerge--found several error so I recopied the clean files to the server. That fixed the problem.
