I'm just set up my site and got my products installed. I'm looking at up grading before I do to many modifications. At the point I'm at I don't even know if it would be easier to just uninstall Zen Cart and re install the new version. I think I'll need to change the same files anyways.
How ever I was looking at buying the e-start your web store manual and didn't know if it was worth it if I up grade?

Yes, The book is still good as gold if you are running 1.3.8a
Operationally, there is little difference.
Buy it!

The manual covers Zen Cart version 1.3.7.1.
We have, however, released a free PDF available in the "Updates" section of our store (accessible via side-box) which covers the changes in the book from 1.3.7.1 to 1.3.8a.Goh Koon Hoek, author of "e-Start Your Web Store with Zen Cart".
