Capabilities/Customization Question

I have two questions...

1) Is there a web site or blog some where that provides superb, step by step instructions on how to create your own skins? (along the lines of this blog for WordPress)

2) Is it possible to strip out unneeded things from the ZenCart code and implement it into an existing design (example here - referring to the maincontent div section)?

1) As far as I know, there is no single, systematically laid out tutorial that covers every possible step of creating a Zen Cart template. There are numerous FAQs and tutorials on the various aspects of template building including the general framework, and a basic overview at the top of the First Steps & General Customization Issues forum.

2) There are mods available in Downloads to allow including small parts of Zen Cart content elsewhere, but you can't take ZC apart and use just part of it.
