Default Updating meta tags for version 1.2.6 without upgrading?

    Hi

I have a client who is still using v1.2.6, and does not want to upgrade due to financial restraints.

The problem is that v1.2.6 does not give you the meta tag flexibilty available in later versions as far as the category level goes.

Is there anyway to get the meta tags working as they do in later versions without having to upgrade?

    Any help , greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Try
Meta Tags and name of site altered in /includes/languages/english/nameofyourtemplate/meta_tags.php
    Robots, generator etc in /includes/nameofyourtemplate/common/html_header.php

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply :)

However, what I really want to be able to do is set individual meta tags for each category section.

At the mo' all that happens is that the name of the category section is added to the front of a generic meta title tag.

I would like to be able to write a specific title, keyword, desc tag for each section.

    Any ideas?

    Short answer: No.
However, the long answer is: if you want to go into the code and reverse-engineer all the work that went into adding those features, you're welcome to have at it.
Your client would be better advised to pay for upgrading than to do things feature-by-feature and bugfix-by-bugfix.

... not to mention 1.2.6 will be busted when his server upgrades to php5
