disable text form being copied from others

Hello

i will like to be able to disable the text on my site to be copied from others.

i had untill now not been worried about that , but as i found out today
someone had copy text from my shop and add it to their own shop
exactly as it was on my shop.

is there a way to prevent that?? can i disable something on my shop
so the text cannot be coppied ??

No. That's the nature of the internet. Information displayed for free ... is free. You can't stop people from taking. There are some deterrents available to prevent right-clicking etc, but if someone wants to steal your content, there's nothing really stopping them from taking it.

You could have your lawyer send them a notice of copyright violation and some sort of threat if they don't remove the stolen information from their site. Your lawyer can tell you how much weight such an action might hold.

yes i know that this is how internet works, but that does not protect my work
i have been working since september to make this shop run, just to find out that someone has copied all my text

i have seen other sites that use this protection , so there must be a way to prevent text from being copied.

Please if some one know write here.

i have send the other shop an e-mail , but they do not replay and ignore it.
Lawyer is an option , but if i can prevent this being donne why shall i not ?

No,it can't really be done. Those sites you've seen probably have a javascript routine which prevents the visitor from right-clicking on your copy or images. All he has to do is disable javascript, and copy your stuff to his heart's content.

If you don't mind a little advice, spend your time and energy making your site as good as you can make it, and ignore the content thieves. They rarely succeed anyway.

yes i will better work on that, then spending my time with some stupid theif.

anyway, i just thoght it maybe an easy way to do that, but if things are complicated
then i will not do it, as im very new to this things.

i better spend my energy on other things.
