Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Should work on ANY recent ZC version
Goals:
1. Simple SEO URL, create seo url for all ZC pages (unlike other seo packages like Magic SEO)
2. Minimal core file edit (currently need to edit 1 file)
3. Minimal performance penalty

Sample url:

http://www.site.com/index/cPath/Pin_Brooch-10/
http://www.site.com/product_info/cPa...piece_set-837/

Drawbacks:
1. no beautiful url such as:
http://www.site.com/bracelet_1.html (for category link)
2. core file edit (1)

One support request though. I'd like my product page URLs to have nothing in front of them and I didn't run across a solution or maybe I overlooked it in one of the docs.

Is it possible to "Set max category level" to 0 (zero)? Also, the mod has been active since Sunday, so what will another drastic URL change like this do to SEO? This will have been the third major URL change in four months.

FWIW, I employ custom data fields for product naming depending upon where the user is at on the site and thus have one custom field for SEO URL purposes due to using Ultimate SEO URLs previously. Every proper Zen Cart product name data field has the right French quote (» or ») in it, and I could never get USU to play nice with the character and am having the same problem with SSU. Thus, I need to stick with my custom SEO URL product name data field for SSU's purpose.

I got SEO simple url loaded and set the admin parameters but when i set the status to On I get the following error when loading a page: Because it does not give me more information i'm not sure what I need to look at fixing. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi I have searched faq's and threads etc.. but no luck yet. I am using zc 1.3.8.a with php 5.2.9 I installed latest version of SSU which is ok but some of my ezy pages dont work! Is there a way to exclude them. Thanx in advance.

Hey Everyone-

I've tried searching for this particular issue, but am having no luck.
Basically, on my local dev server, everything works perfectly as far as SSU goes.

I have the exact same settings locally as I do on my staging server, but the staging server isn't returning the proper aliases on the zen_href_link call.

So, for example, it displays URLs like this on the site:
/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1

When that url is hit, it 301 redirects to the correct alias:
/category-alias/product-alias

Any ideas on why my staging server isn't returning the aliases from zen_href_link?

The staging server has PHP 5.3.1, which is really the only difference.

Ignore my post above, somehow I didn't have the proper html_output.php file up on my staging server. I put up the one with the updated SSU code and it works perfectly.

Hi, I wonder if you can help as you have in the past...

I recently installed a set of products under a new manufacturer 'label.m' and the seo url system changes the path to '/-c-0/products-name' rather than '/label.m' or whatever. I don't know if the problem is caused by the manufacturers name having a . in it but I tried without to no avail. The path is obviously wrong and there are no products displayed...

I deleted all the cache entries, reset everything and removed all the aliases which had built up, but still this manufacturer url is wrong, have you any ideas as to how I can get this working?

I should add that I have tried renaming the manufacturer to omit the '.' putting a ' ' space in its place instead but it still didnt work!!
