I have done this and seems to have cured my previous problems of not bringing up the product page on certain products.

I have just tested the checkout process up to the point of going through to enter card details and then aborted this halfway through payment. This on my live site would take me back to step 2 of checkout. on my test server it goes back to a blank page and the URL looks or seems to wrong:

In the two examples The difference seems to be that cartain & and = are changed to / can this be resolved with one of the settings?
