    Default Re: Simple SEO URL [support thread]

    Weber asked me a question, which I believe might be of interest others, so I posted it here.

    Situation: "I have SSU installed on my zen cart 1.38a, but don't know why my site was unable to be even listed by google... this is just out of my knowlege...SSU 3.5.7 then upgrade to 3.6.7"

    Problem: when I visit the site, I see this in the header:
    <meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow, archive" />

    Obviously this tells google to NOT index the site. And surely this has nothing to do with SSU or any SEO module. Whoever coded the template is responsible for that. If your site is not indexed by google for a long while, go to your site, right click on the page the choose to view "source code" and see if you find your metatag telling google to not index your site
    I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

    There's a bug in v1.3.8 which only shows when you have Categories set to "Always Show on Main Page = 1"

    Had the same problem myself, and never even knew I had a problem until I stumbled upon this thread with the solution:

    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87093

    Nothing to do with Simple SEO btw.

    Before I forget, Spanish transliteration working perfectly now, I am so pleased with this mod, thnx a bunch Yellow1912!

    Tnx yellow1912 for your help, greatly appreciated,
    since i have SSU auto set to true and already cleared all the cache, is there a newer version of SEO than the Beta 3.5.7 i currently have that i downloaded a few days ago, maybe an existing upgrade will do the trick, otherwise i will spend a weekend to manually change all my products aliases,
    Thanks again yellow1912 for your patience,
    Joe

    Joe, 3.5.7 is rather old. Get the latest from http://eazy-templates.com/web-templa...simple-seo-url

    I googled this and found out it has something to do with Google's own instructions. The phrase is RECOMMENDED. To tell the truth, I don't understand what this site is talking about (it's very late here)... but if you want to read up on it here's the scoop:

    I need to upgrade the SEO Url, but all I can get is the version for PHP 4. Otherwise the link to PHP 5 download isn't working. It goes to the shopping cart to order installation.

    The installation service is optional. you can just order the product (FREE) without installation service and checkout without having to pay for anything.

    Yellow i need your help please mate. I am having issues with SSU.

    Firstly what is this all about and why are search engines are indexing it ???

    http ://fishingtackleoxford.co.uk/index.php/?pfotx=15

    I have added a space at the start so i dont get it as a backlink.

    Also why is Yahoo indexing the non SSU like here

    http://fishingtackleoxford.co.uk/ind...roduct_info&cP
    ath=18_28&products_id=171

    Here is a list of what Yahoo is indexing :-

    http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com...&fr2=seo-rd-se

    I am getting worried as i dont want to be banned from the search engines .

    Could you please help me mate.

    Im not sure, but 1 thing I know for sure: pfotx=15 does not look like something that zencart uses (not sure if any module uses it). Perhaps you are using http://www.sagepay.com/ ?

    Regarding the yahoo index, uhm, you have an incomplete install of SSU. You havent edited the includes/functions/html_output.php as instructed here:
