UK Postcode Lookup

THANKS FORS SHARING THIS THING WAS EASY TO INSTALL AND WORKS BRILLIANTLY.
But i do have a question...
I cant work out if i have to pay for this service?
It seems to work correctly and i havent paid or given my bank details to the postcodefinder website.
Anyone know how this works???

Yes this is a paid for service. You buy credits which are then depleted with each lookup. However, they give you some credits up front to test your installation, so maybe you're living on those.

No. The Royal Mail licenses owns the rghte to postcode information and licenses it (google "PAF"). So any service provider will be paying for the data that they serve to you and will want to charge you in return.

Thanks for the code and documentation Rob. I'm currently looking into building the postcode look-up tool on the shipping and address book page within Zen Cart too.

In terms of cost the service is licensed purely on a credit pack based system - there are no other costs involved. Having said that, you are more than welcome to register for a free account with us and we can provide you with some free test credits to have a play around.

Hi guys,

yes as has been said it's based on credits which are purchased in advance, from what i remember you get 20 searches for free when you signup,

I have not been using ZC for around 9 months now and have moved to another business, does anyone know if this works with 1.3.9? or does it need updating?

Hi Rob,

In addition to those 20 credits you get when you register we also have a free test postcode “WR2 6NJ” which is very useful for development and repetitive testing. I have just had a go at setting up Postcode Anywhere within version 1.3.9 and didn’t come across any problems. Has anyone else given it a go?
