can I place an order for customer who has no email address?

how do you enter an order for someone who has everything but doesn't have an email???

I still want them to be in the system for address, phone, etc..

can you make email not required to have someone in the db?

Create a dummy account, such as [email protected], [email protected] and use them for such customers. It's kinda weird for anyone not having an email these days.

Ya - Zen Cart has always based its account identification on customer email address. That's actually a good choice, since it's a pretty unique identifier.

I've seen a few places on the forum where others have asked a similar question. A similar solution as what yellow gave you is what was the end result. That's probably your best choice for now. You could even take the emailed customer receipts and print-and-fax them or something if you wanted.

I agree, people should have an email account, but for whatever reason some don't (or maybe it's at work and they can't use it). I dunno... All I know is the customer is always right. :-)

And it sure would be really helpful to not require an email address.

Try amazon or ebay, can you register to buy with no email?

The thing is, your business is online, you need something to contact your customers (shipping notification etc...)
I can hardly imagine anyone who doesnt know how to create an email address would go shopping online.

Again, there is an option to do what you want, but it's not built it. Search around the forum, learn from others, dig in the code.
