The thing is, your business is online, you need something to contact your customers (shipping notification etc...)
I can hardly imagine anyone who doesnt know how to create an email address would go shopping online.

Again, there is an option to do what you want, but it's not built it. Search around the forum, learn from others, dig in the code.

Me either but's happened (a few times). People wanted to buy, but didn't have (or want to use) an email address. Usually call-ins. Like I said, I don't know why that is, but it is. I am not Ebay or Amazon, and every sale counts... I was hoping their name, phone number, address, etc. could be used as a unique identifier and not require an email address. I will keep looking for an adequate solution... and see if I can find the option you mention.

Hi, if the customer wants to use the phone number for the login info. I would just use 5555555555 AT yourstorename DOT com Odviously they aren't going to get an notifications, but that would be an easy way to find them later if you needed to!
