Customer Complaint

Hi,
I recently did an email to customers with items in their cart, recover cart sales. Two of the customers replied stating they didn't see that my site was secure and therefor they weren't comfortable putting their credit card info on my site. I have an ssl on my site, my own, and I don't see anything that would be an indication of a security issue. I would really appreciate it if someone, anyone, would take a look and see it they see anything that would cause them concern on the site.

SSl seems fine when viewing with both IE7 and FireFox.

I thought so too. I checked them both as well. I have no idea what either of them are talking about. But maybe it was just an excuse...

I dont see anything that would cause me to question the security either, like you say it could just be an excuse, however I would email them and ask for more details, be a PC as possible, something like

"Thank you for your reply, we are always looking for ways to improve your shopping experience could you provide me with more details about why you were uncomfortable entering paying information in our web site"

I can't see anything wrong there either. I wonder if these were unsophisticated visitors looking for logos to tell them that the site was secure, rather than the actual evidence of SSL shown in their browsers.

Your site is gorgeous!!! Ok, so I did use the word gorgeous, that's just how imprressed I am with your site.

I took a good look and you don't have any indication that you have a secure site other than the lock in the browser. You might try either adding a secure server LOGO in a side box and/or editing the signup and checkout pages and adding it there.

Customer perception is a big thing these days.

Also didn't see any sign of payment methods, do you accept Visa, MC, Discover - PayPal, Google Checkout, others? You might try adding the LOGO's in the footer or the header, or a side box.

Hi John,

Thank you so much for the compliments and the suggestions. I used to have the CC and Pay Pal logo showing and agree it would be best to have them. I may also look for a seal of some sort indicating the site is secure. I actually contacted Hacker Safe and they want $999.00 to do their "thing" and display their logo. Currently that is a bit more than I can do...
So I will try other suggestions such as your for now.

It looks as if your SSL comes from Equifax Secure Inc, don't they have a Logo that you can use?

It is quite possible it was a Browser and/or Operating System problem.

There are some coding errors which can cause various Browsers to throw various msgs.

You may have neglected to close an element, or perhaps you meant to "self-close" an element, that is, ending it with "/>" instead of ">".

Should be:

You also have "hr" tags that are not closed.

<hr> << incorrect
<hr /> << correct


Not properly closing tags can cause a cascading error effect.
