Available templates questions

Hi All! I haven't been here for ages! but now I need to setup a store and here I am.

I have to customize the look, but would like to start with a template already available from the downloads area and then customize it as necessary.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to preview them, so I don't have to install each one to figure out how they look. Is there a gallery somewhere?

Another question I had was wether there is an admin area template that'd make it easier to use. I just find the default one a bit intimidating, probably because I'm pretty new to it.
