Can ZenCart do this?

I've been reading/searching these forums for a few hours and couldn't find an answer, so maybe someone can help me and point me in the right direction.

The customer's requirements:

- selling digital artwork for artists (it's in EPS format for Photoshop, etc..)
- regular customers can browse, buy, and download files (this was on the feature page as "downloadaable virtual products" so I think we're good here, right?)

- two continuity programs:
-- monthly membership, person signs up for $X/month and are allowed a certain amount of "credits" that they work down from.
-- yearly membership, works the same as "monthly" except they are billed annually and are given a different amount of credits.

http://www.lightboxphoto.com/ seems like it has the features, but it's 1k and I'd rather use Zen.

Does anyone have any tips? Thanks in advance!!

With some time, careful analysis of a few modules available for galleries and a bit to alot of custom additions depending on what you "must" have and what you can make work you should be able to attain a workable solution.

-->subscriptions: this is what ZC does not currently support right out of the box, I believe.
But it wouldnt be so hard to work out a solution for that, unfortunately Im not an expert at this.

There is another membership module in downloads section,
but levies one off charge, not monthly or yearly..

wow! a few hours and 4 helpful replies! You guys are awesome.

I'm going to install Zen and some of those modules and see if I can't hobble together a working system. I can code PHP so if I make any fixes to the modules I will send it back to the author.

Thanks misty for the heads up...I haven't required this but recalled seeing one so had not tested it....probably saved poster some frustration!!!!

I slept on my issue and might have a cheap workaround.

Essentially, if someone subscribes, they get a dollar amount of money on the site. Pretty much if they spend 20 bucks a month, they get 50 bucks in credit. Or a 50 dollar gift certificate to the site.

So I was thinking that I could just rename the "gift certificate" to "store bucks" or something and then every month, hit people's credit cards, if it's approves, then give them a gift certificate to spend on the site.

No weird modules or anything.

Thoughts?

You might find the store credit module useful.
