Changing the Information Sidebox

Hi, i'm working on my shopping cart and i'm almost there, but i need couple fo things changed. I looked and looked through the forum can't find the answers.How do i changed what pages show on the information sidebox?
For example, i want to take out site map, discount coupons, and gift certificate faqs.
I also want to take out New Products from the Category sidebox, is that possible?
And my last thing is how do i change the button home to go somewhere else? Or if that's not possible can i re-name that button and maybe at the top above the header can i add another link, right now just home and log in show up?

Just an update, i did manage finally to change my home button and to take away the new products, but still looking on how to alter information sidebox.

Did you find a solution to how to change the information sidebox?

If you go in your admin and go to:

Configuration -> Define Page Status

you will find a section to turn the pages in the information box on or off. 4 options listed. Setting a page to option 3 will turn it completely off.

yes, i did found out if you edit
includes/modules/sideboxes/information.php

you can turn off links in the information box
