Price Breaks / Discount Levels for EXACT quantities?

Hi there, former OScommerce user and in the process of switching over to Zen Cart! I have been searching for the last couple days and can't quite find a solution to my problem:


I sell products in specific quantities, i.e. 250, 500, 1000, 2500, 5000. I only sell in those EXACT, SPECIFIC quantities. For instance, I don't sell in quantities of 750. It's actually more expensive for me to produce 750 than it is to produce 1000. I am using Discount Levels in the Products Price Manager. I have set Qty Minimum to 250. I set the Qty Units to 250, which allows for a purchase of 250 units, but it also allows a purchase of 750, 1250, 1500 (etc) which I would like to avoid.

Is there a way to accommodate this that I'm not seeing?


I tried creating an Attribute for each quantity offered (one option for 250, one for 500, etc) which works except in the checkout it says Qty:1 when in reality the quantity is much higher.

To the best of my knowledge the easiest way to accommodate what you are after would be to use Attributes, and price by attribute.

To fix the "Qty:1" from confusing the customer, name your Attribute "Set of:" with a value of "250", "500", "1000", "5000"; this would show you what quantity your customer wanted, and it would also allow them to purchase "1500" by either buying 3 Qty of the "500" or 1 of the "1000" & 1: "500" which will prevent them from being able to order a quantity that is not offered because they will be purchasing in "Sets".

You may also want to put something in the product description stating you sell these items in "sets of:" and for the customer to select how many "set's" they wish to purchase in the Qty box, rather then total number of pieces they want.
