order no. wont go past order no. 5?

ive tryed serveral transactions, they go through paypal ok, then they come back to success page and its always order no. 5. its for a downloadable product.

everything is set up correcty. doube, double checked urls. works fine with pp express but showsn o download link. with ipn its shows download link. but produce a new order no.

is there anything esle i can check?

to take paypal payments do u need either ipn and pp express or just one of them switched on?

It is unwise to set the "Pending" status to anything other than "Pending". Otherwise downloads will be available even if the order isn't properly paid.

You do not need both at the same time. One is sufficient.

thanks so much for your help on this. canu advise whatis the best payment method if i want a fast check out process? ie: not to come back to zen cart after paying in paypal and having to go through another 3 pages?

what was the problem that was fixed? i'm having the same issue.. except i'm stuck on order number 1 and every time i make another order, on the return page it always tells me that's my order number, and that is also the only order in the database...

i noticed on the checkout page that gets posted to paypal the hidden form variable: 'input type="hidden" name="paypal_order_id"' with no value. doesn't paypal require an order id in order to post the order details back to the store when it's done? is that maybe why i'm not getting new orders generated?
