Default Re: FCKeditor Plugin 2.5 - Updating to CK v 3.5 help

I've installed Kurio's v2.6 add-on and it appears to be working fine, however, there's a new version of CKEditor (v3.5) which I've downloaded. I'd like to use it in my ZC store hopefully eliminating some of the issues discussed in this thread.

The new version is quite larger in size and contains many more files and directories that the 2.6 version. I have done file and folder comparisons (which are somewhat different) and I realize when Kurio put this up some thought went into it as a ZC install. How would one go about updating this editor? I'm running ZC 139h.

Here's the link to the latest version of this editor but the install doesn't take into account that it's a ZC install.

    ckeditor 3.5 download

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rod

First.. this link you put up is the link to the full CK Editor written by the authors of CK Editor (who by the way ARE NOT KuROI) Kuroi merely adapated the CK Editor and FCK Editor for Zen Cart..

Ummmm dunno about you, but instead of trying to re-invent the wheel, I'd download the Zen Cart CKEditor plugin available in the downloads section.. (and YES it is there..)

and it wouldn't since this is just an HTML editor that can be used in a variety of applications not just Zen Cart.. You have to customize it for your specific application.. (which has already been done for Zen Cart if you look in the downloads section..)

No, not trying to re-invent the wheel. So the reason for my post. Wasn't aware that CK was in the DL's as I only saw FCK. Had done a search for HTMLarea and saw only 4. Didn't realize CK would be somewhere else.

    Found it.

    Thanks for the reply, Diva....

Idea or Suggestion Re: FCKeditor Plugin 2.5

I have installed FCKeditor 2.6.4.1 on v1.3.9d. It looks great looking at the test from the admin side but this is what the page looks like.

What procedures do you suggest that I do to try to rectify it.

This is nothing to do with the editor. Instead it's because your stylesheet sets the line height for paragraphs in #productDescription to be a measely 0.1em, so browsers are forced to squish the text right up to try to comply.

this is not working on 1.5.0 Beta (it did I believe on another installation I had done). Is there any update available?

I am not sure where I should look to for proper support for this addon.

    Thanks

FCKEditor has been retired by its authors in favor of CKEditor. It's history and the intrusive support (lots of extra code all over the admin) that had been available for it in the 1.3 series of Zen Cart isn't present in 1.5. So this mod won't work in any release of Zen Cart that is 1.3+.

Personally I'm pleased, the hacks needed to the Zen Cart code for FCKEditor were ugly and irritating, it didn't work with some plugins (such as the News and Article Manager) and it produced poor HTML markup compared to CKEditor (or its nearest competitor TinyMCE).
