I stand corrected.. In working with at the Joomla and WordPress plugins/components for CKEditor, many of them include the image upload functions so I (incorrectly) though that the Zen Cart version had disabled this functionality. Since this functionality was disabled/problematic in the FCKEditor add-on I assumed (incorrectly) that it was disabled in the CKEditor add-on too..

I'm not personally looking for that functionality at all.. I do understand the risks of image uploading and have educated my clients and found alternative solutions accordingly..

What alternative solution do you use may I ask....

FTP.. Showed them how to use it, and provided them with a "cheat sheet" to enter the proper HTML tags.. For some clients, I do the work for them.. I would ideally like to find a way to mimic the media management features of WordPress..

There is a free file browser/upload plugin for both TinyMCE and CKEditor, "PDW FILE BROWSER". It works well but i'm searching a method to check if admin logged or not to prevent guest upload if they find admin url popup. i've tried with .htaccess to protect PDW directory, but it won't work on IE due to SWFupload limitations.

What should I see when I install this without needing the file manager?

I can enable it in My Store, and see its available in define pagers editor, but I dont see anything different, anywhere.

I tried my firefox and IE, or could it be the versions of these two browsers?
Should I try a earlier version of ckeditor?

Remember that changes will come up after you log off and come back in from admin (after installation). Also there's a drop down menu for the editor on the top right side of your page on the category/product page; so you have to change to the editor there before going in to add/edit any text.

Yep, FCKeditor 2.6.4.1 shows in the drop down window like you say, but there is nothing different than plain text.

Its like zencart is not loading the editor.

Does having my admin folder renamed have anything to do with it?
Or could a misplaced .htaccess have anything to do with it?

Now I know its not looking in the right place. I purposely renamed the root editors directory, and I got a error.
I renamed the editors/fckeditor directory and I didnt get any error or any change.

Surely its not my configure.php is outta whack.

Go to your store admin/configurations/E-mail Options Look at the Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails and set that to true. That should fix it for you.

Hi Everyone
First time so please be gentle!!

Im on Zencart v1.5 and would like FCKEditor to customise text in define pages editor.

I thinki downloaded it correctly because it is enabled in admin>configuration>html editor.

When i go to define pages editor, I have the option of html area and FCK editor as well as the standard plain text option.

When FCK editor is selected and main_page.php i only have the plain text option and no editor, logged out and back in and just the same, cleared cache and nothing.

PLEASE HELP
