    Default securing site wont work

    using filezilla to download and rewrite my files so as to secure my site and when I go to upload using FTP on my hosting cpanel its telling me that it cannot open the file and do that.

    What ***** am I doing wrong?

    Trying to secure the site in order to open a new store.

    You can't upload changed configure.php files to the server if the files on the server are still flagged as read-only (which would be normal for regular operation).
    You'll need to make them writable before you can upload your changes.
    And of course make them read-only again when done.

    now I have changed the files and Im getting this as a message:

    Forbidden

    You don't have permission to access /zencart/admin/login.php on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    I guess that depends on "what" you've changed, both in terms of file contents and file permissions.

    I changed to secure https on all configure files


    and changed false to true to enable ssl on admin and catalog

    was that wrong?

    Can you tell us what the file permissions are for these files:

    zencart/includes/configure.php

    zencart/admin/login.php
    zencart/admin/includes/configure.php
