Shopping Cart contents editing failed

I edited the shopping_cart.php file where it says: You may want to add some instructions for using the shopping cart here. (defined in includes/languages/english/shopping_cart.php)

but it seems I must be putting it in the wrong directory, because it is not showing my changes. I tried putting it in:

/public_html/includes/languages/english/myown

and also tried:

/public_html/includes/languages/myown

No luck...any suggestions?

It would go in /public_html/includes/languages/english/myown

Thank you! It FINALLY worked! I had the php file in the wrong directory!

Please forgive my stupid question, but when I built my site I must have taken out the text in the shopping cart. Can someone tell me what file I put the text in and what the code is (the define name). I have looked in a fresh languages/english/english.php but can not find the line.
