Paypal IPN already used for subscription...

I'm new to Zen Cart so this may be a basic question, but I have not found anything on the forum regarding it.

I already offer a monthly subscription on my site which uses a Paypal script, so my Paypal IPN is already directed to that script. I want to sell downloadable digital files as well, and was hoping to use ZenCart. However ZenCart requires I redirect my IPN to the ZenCart IPN Script. Of course doing so would then deactivate my Paypal subscription service. Does anyone know if there is a common and simple solution to this issue, so I can do both?

As long as PayPal is configured with "some" URL ... then the Zen Cart PayPal IPN will send the "right" URL for the shop you are using Zen Cart ...

So what this means is, I can setup PayPal to go to 1 particular URL then setup a dozen different Zen Carts ... each with its own URL ... and Zen Cart will "override" what PayPal has been setup with and you will return to the correct Zen Cart ...

Thank You for your response. It sounds as if you are describing the paypal "auto return" url, which determines which page in a web site to return to - that it gets over-ridden.

I am still not quite sure how Zen cart would utilize the paypal IPN function to verify an actual purchase has been made from the supposed buyer if the paypal IPN is not set to the Zen Cart IPN script - /ipn_main_handler.php - but is instead going to a paypal script in my cgi bin that is used for my subscription service).

Are you saying I do not need to set my Paypal IPN url to ZenCart's ipn_main_handler.php file, as stated in the ZenCart instructions?
