looking for where to change the color

I downloaded the firefox plug-in and have been using it to modify my stylesheet, but I can't seem to find where to change the color for the bars across the top of the sideboxes, header, and footer, I am using the plug-in but when I match up the names there's nowhere to change the color?

One more thing I don't know if this is in the stylesheet where do you change the background color outside the borders of the web page?

You don't say which template you're using, but if it's the default classic, those bars are colored by tiling the tile_back image across them. So you can change the color in the stylesheet by removing them, or externally by changing the color and/or gradient used in the image.

The general background color for your store is probably right at the top of the stylesheet and is the background color for the BODY tag.

what about the small block of color on the bottom of the sideboxes? how do you change that...through the css? And what am I looking for? TIA

In the your stylesheet.css look for;

.leftBoxContainer, .rightBoxContainer {
margin: 0em;
border: 1px solid #ffffff;
border-bottom: 5px solid #ffffff;
margin-top: 1.5em;
}

you should create an override for this
