    Default Problems Configuring mysql db

Hello i am wanting to use zen cart and have uploaded it to my server, i have started the installer and everything was ok up until i got to the databse setup page, i input the details for my db but it is saying it cannot connect, i have checked the details several times, i even reset the db password and tried again but it refuses to accept my settings. Assuming i am managing to type in my details correctly, is there anything else that would possibly stop the zen cart installer from making the connection?

    **EDIT**

    http://http://www.zen-cart.com/forum...l+wont+connect

    - That sounds the exact same problem i am having. I can see another user suggested analysing the configure.php file but this wouldnt help i do not think as the section will obviously not save my settings to the file unless they are accepted, so exactly like the user posting the problem there, if i open my configure.php it still lists the preset settings localhost, root, etc

If his problem was solved i would really like to know how

    Thanks in advance!

DB server is usually localhost but for some hosting accounts this is another location?? Is yours different?

Thanks for the reply, the settings were correct but it was my own fault it was not working.

I just activated shared SSL certificate prior to installing zen cart, so to check SSL was working i had opened the SSL URL (secureserver.co.uk/mywebsite) to my site, but then when i started running the zen installer i was still running it through the SSL url (secureserver.co.uk/mywebsite/cart/) instead of navigating back to my real url to run it (mywebsite.co.uk/cart/) This wasnt a problem until mysql tried to connect which it obviously cant do via the SSL url.

Short answer, stupid me, 1 hour wasted for not realising changing the URL, zen cart now installed and running fine.
