Default Got a few issues with payment stuff..

I just finished upgrading finally. I want to get myself set up with Paypal Payments pro, and i have several problems.

When in the checkout, theres a direct paypal button. When I pay with that, it discards shipping prices and only charges the base price.

Instead of clicking that, if I wanted to go to the "Checkout" button (instead of the paypal button), Id get three options.

    One: MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYPAL_TEXT_CATALOG_LOGO

I dont know what this is. I disabled Credit card in payment methods because i just want to make it easy and go with paypal.

    Two: Credit Card

I disabled credit card, yet its still here! Whats up with this?

    Three: Checkout with PayPal

I have this option here as well. It appears if i chose this paypal method here instead of the first one i explained, it would not discard shipping and tax.

Help please. I just want to get paypal web pro set up, and not do any processing on the site.

    Thanks

That indicates that you've not updated the /includes/languages/english/modules/payment files to the new version.

If you've enabled "PayPal Website Payments Pro", then you'll have a Credit Card option in your checkout, and customers will be able to enter their credit card number directly on your site, and PayPal will process that card quietly and invisibly for you, depositing the money from the CC transaction into your PayPal account.
You want to have an SSL certificate on your site to do that.
And of course you need to sign up for Website Payments Pro service with PayPal and pay their monthly fee for that service.

I'm not sure what you mean by this statement. As I said above, if you're going to use Website Payments Pro, you're going to be collecting credit cards on your site.

    Alright.. fixed that problem.

I have all 3 paypal options installed, Web payments pro, IPN, and express checkout.

I wish to remove the paypal button (i think its the express one) from the checkout, as it does not add shipping info and such. How do i do this?

My posts here keep not going through... is there some kind of moderation taking place?

Anyways, i resolved one problem by getting rid of IPN service. Now i have 2 checkout options - Credit Card(Which is actually payments pro, now i know..)

    ..and regular paypal.

But to keep payments pro i need to keep the express checkout... which i presume is the big shiny button near the bottom of the main checkout page. I dont want to use it because it does not take shipping info..

    Thats what i mean.

How do i get rid of it?

You have to keep the "Checkout with PayPal" button if you're using Website Payments Pro. The Express Checkout service is "required" to be part of your site when using payments-pro.

Okay, well how do i fix it so it takes in tax and shipping? Currently, if i try to checkout with that, it only processes the base price(60.00)

    What country are you in?

If you activate and use other payment modules, are they calculating tax and shipping properly?
Are you entirely certain that you didn't miss any coding changes in your upgrade?

I would suggest that you do a clean fresh uncustomized install to a new folder+database, add a test product, set up taxes and shipping, and try a test checkout. You'll most likely see that it works fine there ... meaning that something was busted or missed during your upgrade process.

And/or you can turn on debug logging in your paypal module and see what it reveals after trudging through the details.
