Hiding Products?

I have a SOAP interface to a company that insists that I not display certain products unless they say its ok. Also, they can change the status of products such that Im not allowed to display them.


How would I "hide" products as needed? Id like to avoid deleting them from the database as they might be best sellers or something.

Any ideas guys?

Thats a step in the right direction, but that looks like its hiding cats, not prods. Not a bad concept though.
