I am struggling with a fresh install as I usually use the ZC install script which is included in my host control panel. However I want to install the latest version of ZC and this needs to be done manually.
I can create a new database from within control panel but do not know how to manage this and set up permissions from MySQL Admin. Do I need to create a new table as there are no tables defined when I access via MSQL Admin. Do i only need to create the one field? Or More?
Am I able to just install ZC 1.7 and then upgrade with 1.8?
If someone can help that would be great. I can allow you to access my control panel temp and ftp to help me with this install if this would be a help.
I have also got a site setup which is running 1.7 and need to upgrade this one but am scared of losing all the hard work that went into this so if anyone can offer help with this it would be great.
I have a reseller account with a major UK hosting company so could reward you with a few hosting accounts that include ZC and SSL
Re: Setting Up New Database Permissions Help Please
You have to create the database, and supply the database name, user name and password when asked by the Zen installation program. The install program will create the proper tables.
File and directory permissions are most easily changed with your FTP client program, if your host allows it (and they should).
