I would like to know if it's possible to set up a newsletter to send out messages when new products is added to my web site. If so, how would I set this up? Customers will have to sign up for the newsletter to receive these messages. I would want it to send out a weekly newsletter for all of the new products that was added that week.

What I don't understan about this is will I have to enter in all of the new products every week or will it recognize the new products I added?

It is not automated at the present time.
You will have to manually prepare and send your own per-product notification advertisements.
That screen is only used to identify the target recipients. You have to supply your own content, and initiate the sending manually..

From a slightly different angle, if a store owner has the RSS module installed by Andrew, is it then possible to say, promote five items from the new producst feed randomly? I have tinkered a bit but I haven't come up with a solution on using the RSS calls to put new products into my newsletter.
I had a go with phplist as it has RSS feed support, but found it very buggy. Basically, it can retrieve your RSS feed and then you can utilise it on your newsletters. But I am sure this could be done with the built in newsletter system somehow?
