Table rates shipping is perfect for me. But I want different table rates for different items.
1-3 cds $5: 3-5 cds $7: etc.
1-3 books $8.50: 3-5 books $17: etc.
My customer base is in Canada, so I can pretty much set an average cost for a bubble wrap and stamp postage that will go anywhere. I also import from Scotland. I know how much 1 item or 3 of the same item ships for from there to here.
Is this the only way to go? I hesitate toying with code, especially if it will get over-written next upgrade.
I saw someone cloned per item shipping, for example. national_and_international_per_item_shipping_1.0.zip Could cloning the table rates php file work? If so, how can I tell a product item to use which table rate?
Any ideas or solutions?
Sorry to have burned so many threads. Not sure if Linda or anyone else understood. So I decided to start my own thread, to clarify what I want to accomplish.
I know the potential is in Zen. Sad to have tried another OS software, hoping that community and author was alive. Happy to come back to Zen, even if the admin interface is extensive. There is potential for me in its complexity.
Thanks!
John
