Copy products from one zencart to another

Hi ppl!

What do i need to copy from one zencart to another if i want to copy all products? What db tables? What files?

I had already copied img files and few tables (_categories, _categories_description, _manufacturers, _products, _producs_description, _products_to_categories) but it still won't work as it should.

Both zencarts are 1.3.7 version.

Looks like your missing the manufacturers_info table. You might want to take a look at this wiki entry.

Other than that it's difficult to comment without knowing more specifically "won't work as it should" means.

U R 100% right.

"won't work as it should" means:

- in front page I get "-> (158)" where categories list should be
- in admin panel i get empty category list and no products at all while in the phpmyadmin i can see them all in _category table.

I did a copy of _manufacturers_info as well no and still no reaction.

Are you sure that the categories_description copy worked. Also how did you copy the tables? Is it possible that the categories_id column may have gotten out of sync between the categories and the categories_description tables?

omg I had terrible problems with internet connection :/ I was trying to write more but I couldn't :/ I checked all tables few times, they are fine.

But the problem can be somewhere else.

I'm trying to copy products from single language (polish) zencart to zencart tjat uses 3 languages (english, polish and russian). I had already try to deactivate english and russian in second zencart but it still did not worked.

Why can't you copy the entire database instead of trying to pick and choose what tables you're copying? Do you want to avoid duplicating customer information? How are you attempting to copy the information?

Of course I can try to copy entire database, just I was hoping to do it in a nice way :) more over it will take to much to customize everything from the very beginning and it has to work tommorow :/

What did you copy those tables into? Was it a clear install of Zen Cart?

it wasnt a clear installation of zen cart.

I do realize that I should write about every changes there were made in the past but its impossible now.

How did I copy tables? I did use php my admin to export each table, drop the table that i did want to reapleace and import option for each of them. It looked to be the easiest and fastes way to do this.

I guess I will have to try figure out some sollution really fast :)

Unfortunately, everything that you've described and your methodology should work. At Kuroi, we do this sort of thing regularly without problems, in a very similar way to how you've done it.

The only thing we haven't discussed, is whether you have options on any of your products, in which case your table list would be incomplete.
