    Default Problems re-installing Zen Cart

My host uses a Linux operating system. I un-installed my first attempt to install because there were all kinds of failures and errors in the installation. Now, when I attempt to re-install I get this message:

    Install Zen Cart (2/3)

The installation can not be completed:

    - You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

Click on the browser's Back button to fix reported errors.

Can anyone help me? I cannot manually find whatever "script" this is in any root directory. A couple of days ago I sent a support ticket to my host and have heard absolutely nothing. Would certainly appreciate some help before I completely give up on this host.

    Thanks

How did you attempt to do this installation: using the Zen Cart installation script which you uploaded to your web host yourself, or one that is built into your hosting account's control panel?

I used the script from my host's site. Should I not have done this?

When they work they're fine. But they do occasionally throw up errors like this. It sounds as through the earlier failures have caused the script to log that there is a Zen Cart installation installed, and not reset, even though you have uninstalled it.

Unfortunately there's not much that we can advise or that you can do. Only your host can straighten this out. Though you should be able to download and install Zen Cart in the convention way, though I'd be a little nervous in case there were other problems lurking on the account.

Also, if your host is unresponsive, forcing you to look elsewhere for help, why persist with them?

Thanks for all your help Kuroi -- I'll certainly be getting another service.
