Attribute Sort Order not responding

Attribute Sort Order not responding

I set up attributes for size (XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL) and gave each a sort order number so that it would go in size order, not alphabetical order. In the attributes option manager they take to the sort order, but on my site (in the drop down menu) they are still displayed in alphabetical order.

Any thoughts?

Check the Sort Order on the Attributes themselves that they are in order ...

Also check the setting in the Configuration ... Product Info ...

Products Info - Product Option Value of Attributes Sort Order
Sort order of Product Option Values of Attributes for Products Info
0= Sort Order, Price
1= Sort Order, Option Value Name

that this is set on 1 ...

Ok, so under Catalog-->Option Values Manager. This is what I have:

Option Value: Default Order
XXS 1
XS 20
S 30
M 40
L 50
XL 60
XXL 70

And I checked that other possibility as well...It was set as it should be. Is there any other possibility why it isnt working?

Did you try ?
Admin---->Catalog --->Option Value Sorter---->Update All Products' Attribute Sort Order

That is sort of where I was trying to push you when I suggested look at the Sort Order on the Attributes themselves and see if the default sort orders had been applied to them yet ... :smile:

The Default Sort Order is there to make it easy to apply to the Product after you add all the Attributes in the Attirbutes Controller and hit the Update Sort Order ...

Or, you can manually add them ...

Or, you can use the Updater in the Store Manager:

Update All Products' Attribute Sort Orders
to match Option Value Default Sort Orders:

Or, you can use the Option Value Sorter as suggested ...

Hello Ajeh:

I followed all your suggestions, but the attributes are still sorted in alpha order. This is darn peculiar

I'm using v1.3.8a on this site.

the catalog > option name sort order is set to:
size = 0
color = 1
availability = 2
notice = 3

Under store > product info
Products Info - Products Option Name Sort Order = 1
Products Info - Product Option Value of Attributes Sort Order = 1

Under catalog > option value sorter, i clicked update next to Update All Products' Attribute Sort Orders
to match Option Value Default Sort Orders:

Still nothing. I even tried the store manager route.

I'm stumped. Any ideas? :no:

I number in 10s ... and those are Option Names ...

Did you also set Sort Orders on your Option Values?

There is an Admin module in the downloads that you might wish to look into ...

I do my attributes as Download 1, Download 2, Download and so on but for some reason the attribute controller is listing Download 10 before Download 2 instead of after Download 9. Is there a way to fix this? My sort numbers are set in 10's but it doesn't seem to be reading it. Under Products Info - Products Option Name Sort Order I selected 0. Can anyone help me with this?

There are Sort Orders available on both the Option Names and on the Option Values ...

I'm on 1.3.8 and none of the suggestions for sort order of attributes in this thread are helping.

Mine are sorting according to the most recently added or changed attribute no matter what I try.

Any other ideas?

I've actually tried both of those settings and used the feature to reapply the default sort order after each and no effect (at all really).
