Download OR Ship to customer

Hi,
I’ve been messing with this for a few days with no luck.
I sell downloadable products. One of these products are very large so I had to split it up into 12 separate downloads. This I can get to work fine. But due to the download size, I wish to offer the customer the option of download OR to receive the physical product (CD/DVD) via post. This I cannot get working. I have searched the forum and found information relating to this… http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...t=40288&page=4, which effectively advises to do the following:
In the “Add new product” page:
. base price is 0
. Set price by attribute
. product not virtual
. Set to Normal Shipping rules
. Set a weight for the physical product

In the attributes controller, select the attribute for the download version and:
. For price, clear the + symbol and set the price to say 5.00
. For weight, Set to - and let the weight equal to the physical product weight (the idea here is that the math equates the weight to zero which triggers the download).
Again, in the attributes controller, select the attribute for the physical product version and:
. For price, clear the + symbol and set the price to say 8.00 (for shipping)
. For weight, clear both blocks

According to the forum post, setting it up this way will result in the download working correctly (0 weight -> no shipping) and be priced correctly, and the physical products will also be priced correctly and have their weight set by the weight you entered when setting up the product.

The problem, as I see it, is that I cannot de-select the physical option (the download should be default) and therefore the customer will only get the download AND physical option.
Can anybody help and see where my mistake is?

I am thinking that you would have to create a dropdown box to choose between download and physical. You can default it to the download option, and it should work for you.
