    Default peer-to-peer commerce

Any one using Zen Cart for peer-to-peer commerce? Any suggestions on how to customize Zen Cart for peer-to-peer?

    Thanks

Zen Cart isn't designed for this. It can provide a good platform from which it can be developed (e.g. www.officetrader.net), but the amount of work involved is huge.

Thank you Kuroi for the quick response. Do you know of any other tool that will make it easier?

I'm afraid not, otherwise I might have advised the client for whom I did Office Trader to use an alternative. My impression is that peer-to-peer platforms are usually built from scratch. We used Zen Cart to get a head start, but there was still a lot to do.

    Thanks again Kuroi,
can I ask you how much work you had to do to customize for peer-to-peer? like 1 person month? was it a extreamly complicated?

I just came across a tool called phpShop, I am looking into that as well. have you seen that one?

    Thank you so much.

It's difficult to say as there were lots of other very specific customisations in there too. But I'd say somewhere in the range 1-2 person months.
