Basic concept of product page?

Hi,
I may have made a huge mistake here by trying ZenCart, but I need to understand one thing. (I'm still waiting for my E-Book).
We already have a Product page ready to go set up in the tradional style of a Shopping Cart, with an Add To Cart button, tables of products, drop-down's, etc.
It doesn't appear that ZenCart works like that. It appears as if ZenCart requires you to build a page through the system setup configurations, not use an existing HTML page that "Adds To Cart" when a button is pressed, like most normal cart systems function.

Is this correct?

Zen Cart and other dynamic database-driven applications are complete e-commerce solutions, not button add-ons. If you have all the functionality you are going to need with your HTML page, you may want to just use Paypal buttons or something like that. If you want to get into a more advanced and robust system, you are going to need to adapt to use it.

Guess this approach is fine if you only have one product....
If you have say 100 or 100,000 products this becomes a lot of straight html pages you have to maintain individually and why the Full cart solution becomes so valuable as there are not actually "pages" but pieces assembled at the server into the requested page.

BTW: What "normal cart system" are you referring to?
