    Default Ridiculously slow- causes?

Hi all! I'm new to this, and I'm hoping I could get some help. My cart is taking 10-30 sec to load! Sometimes it plain times out.

I've lowered file sizes and turned off count stuff, turned on gzip. I turned on the display parse time and got these:

    Parse Time: 27.131 - Number of Queries: 229 - Query Time: 12.8918719248
    Parse Time: 22.121 - Number of Queries: 229 - Query Time: 10.2869416941

I'm not sure what this means except that it's awful! Is the problem the hosting or SQL? It's on GoDaddy. Everything else on the hosting seems to load just fine.

    Thanks in advance.

Search the forum for threads about GoDaddy hosting.

Thanks for your reply, but that returns 300 threads. Would you be kind enough to provide a link or two?

I ask because I'm having a hard time wading through all the information here. Browsing thread titles I don't even know which ones to go to.

    How many products you have?
    How many categories?
    How many sub-categories?
    How many category levels? (parent-sub-sub....etc)

A Link to the site will help as well.
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

    http://www.stephanieknaturals.com/shop

6 categories with 35 products. No subcats, I didn't even realize subcategories could be made.

    Thank you.

Hi, I've been trying to reply but it hasn't been showing up I guess due to the URL. My URL is on my profile now. :)

I have 6 categories, no subcats, and 35 products.

    Thanks!

    Nevermind-- there it is.

This shoud tell all you need to know
    Parse Time: 27.131 - Number of Queries: 229 - Query Time: 12.8918719248

the mysql server is not tuned and is overloaded,
ask GD to move you to a less crowded server,
you will need to continue to do this as the new server gets loaded up as well

or take a look at some of the certified hosts that are tuned for e-commerce

    YESSS! Huge difference!

I have a database on a new server, and here is my new parse time:
    Parse Time: 0.972 - Number of Queries: 229 - Query Time: 0.235929787476

    Thanks for your help!
