    Default paypal overcharging, why!?

i can't figure out why, but when a customer is given a total in the checkout process, then sent to paypal express, the amount that paypal charges them is always HIGHER than the initial total on my site!

for example, the final total is 23.00, but as soon as they go to paypal, it asks for 29.06

i'm losing sales over this, and where ever i can, i give refunds. but most people are just walking away - which is incredibly frustrating.

paypal customer 'service' are completely unhelpful, and say it's something that is happening on my end... but i can't figure out.

i can't seem to find anyone else having this issue, any ideas?

please help me! i'm a new business trying to survive, and i really dont wish to rip people off!

Just placed an order from the Zen Cart account for 3 Power Balls.

    3 x *pow!* power balls (powerballs) = $3.45
    ------------------------------------------------------
    Sub-Total: $3.45
    Flat Rate (Best Way): $2.00
    Total: $5.45

    Is that correct?

i'm intruiged, how did you do that?

    it is correct,
on my end, it says you paid by credit card, but it doesn't show up in my paypal account?

when it's been going wrong, it's been going through paypal...
