    Default Mutually Exclusive Attributes

I sell bridal garments, and sometimes only certain sizes are available in specific colors. Is there a way to make it so that those colors can't be selected when the size isn't offered in that color?

For example, I have a product that is offered in Missy sizes (8-18) and Womens (14W-24W). In Missy, the color options are Sage & Champagne, in Womens the color optsion are Sage, Champagne, & Navy. Here is the product example:

So I want it to be that if you choose a Missy size you cannot choose Navy as a color.

Any ideas? I have SO many attributes (my custom veils have so many attributes that there are literall over 2 million possibly combinations) that my store is already running extremely slow, so I'd rather not list out Size 8 Champange, Size 8 Sage & would rather keep the size/color attributes separate.

There is a Product Attributes Grid mod that may be helpful - look for its support thread in Contributions. I know that there was discussion there about disabling unavailable combinations.

On a side note, you mention your site being slow; I notice that you have regular product pages running under SSL. I have heard that this can cause significant slowness by itself, and is unnecessary for security.

hmm, I think it would work for this particular product (the dress), but not my custom veils (where I have 6 categories of attributes, 2 sets have mutually exclusive attributes, and each on has thousands of different possible combinations):

We are working on getting the actual "store" front to run on my non ssl site (see the above link), we just have a bit more testing to do. One problem here is that once the customer signs into their account (to add items to their wishlist) they are taken to the ssl & continue shopping....we're trying to figure out if there is a way that they can have 1 user log-in for both the ssl & non-ssl store's so they can continue to add to their wish-list from the non-ssl side, and only go to the ssl when placing the actual order. That said, when testing the store on the non-ssl site, it is still really slow, and we've cleaned out the admin logs & done the other tricks others suggested on this board.
