Hiya all
Is it possible to set up 2 carts with 2 admin panels, feeding off the same catalog [so we don't have to upload new products to 2 sites], but needing different prices, shipping and tax?
Thanks in advance.

I too have thought about this and this is what I have done. What you might try is this.
You can install ZenCart into a new directory. EX> store1, store2
Create a second database via PHPMyadmin and go through the normal Zen installation process, manual install is far superior to auto install via control panel. Trust me. Take the time and install it yourself.
After you have the new cart set up into a second directory just "Import" the first database into the new cart. Any small changes you make can be done in each site and should not be too much trouble after you have the bulk of the products in there.
You cannot have 2 different sites using the same data as it would conflict.
I manage 3 sites all with similar product data and it is not too difficult.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Kevin, it was just the thought of having to add 50 odd new products each month into 2 carts that's a bit daunting.
I see what you mean. The only trouble with importing the database is that it would also import the customer files and all other tables as well.
I am just now becoming more familiar with MySQL database management.
I know there is a way for you to just import the "Products" table into your second cart.
Based on what I know now, there is definately an easy solution to this by manually managing the Database via PhpMyAdmin.
Try another post on the forum that is more specific to:
"How do I import just the Product information table into an existing ZenCart Database" or search for Dr. Byte or Kim. They can help.
Thanks again, maybe the Easy Populate will help.
