UPS AND USPS Module Problems

What version of Zen Cart?
Have you tried enabling the "debug" mode in your Zen Cart USPS or UPS module settings (if there is one)?
If you did, can you post the emailed transmission details that it sent you?


In your Admin->Configuration->Shipping/Packaging, what do you have set for a Postal Code? It needs your zip code there in order to guestimate where you're shipping from.

i uninstalled and reinstalled both modules and still nothing. I called back my hosting company and they are still saying there isn't a thing they can find wrong on their end. This is strange though because yesterday i still had sales, but today i have had 0 and my site has been running badly all day. But i do not know if the lack of sales has been because of the site loading badly, or because there wasn't any way to select the shipping method.
any other suggestions?

I am using version 1.038 the latest one. my zip code is in there correct. As for the debug i tried that and the e-mails i get back are blank, there is literally nothing on them at them, its just blank for whatever reason, could that mean something?

I tried UPS also when USPS had the problem and they are both not workign for me either. I've checked the zip code & reinstalled & everything suggested in a couple of the threads about this. I've opened a ticket with the host and am waiting for a response.

HI, I am also having a USPS problem today. When a U.S. domestic customer checks out, the selection choices are all correct on the first check out page, but then on the second page, the first choice in the list is selected even if that is not what the customer selected. I have "Express", "Priority" and "Media" as choices. The customer selected "Media" but the system selected "Express". If I turn "Express" off, it selects "Priority".

I found the file update USPS NEWER.php from November and installed that and then re-installed the shipping module for USPS but it did not fix the problem.

This has been working correctly for months so I suspect that something is going on with the post office again. Any thoughts about that? Any one else having this problem?

Some one suggested the following to me:

"Did you see if perhaps the database for the real time rate calculation needs to be refreshed with new info from FedEx, UPS, etc? It gets info from a database that you provide to it when you set it up, this may be outdated or there may be a problem with the code..."

Wouldn't reinstalling the module in the admin take care of this?
