Default Installing Zen Cart on addon-domain

I have addon-domain "addon-domain" on my site which is directed to "primary-domain/public_html" (being the home directory of "primary-domain".
I want to install an instance of Zen Cart on "addon-domain" in a directory called "estore".
I have selected the install to go to "addon-domain" and then entered to "estore" directory.
At finalising it tells me it is going to "addon-domain/estore" which is what I want.
When I look for the "estore" directory, I find it in "primary-domain/public_html".
So I create a directory "dst" in "public_html" coz I'd like to put the estore in that sub-directory.
after deinstalling the original installation, I go through installing only this time I use "addon-domain" as the domain, and then enter "dst/estore" for the directory of Zen Cart... this time I get error message "- No valid directory name provided."

SO, how do I get Zen Cart to install in "addon-domain" in the "dst/estore"?
    (PS: Please... I'm a "newbie's understudy" - I'm a scuba diver not a computer geek !!)

I'm not sure I'm following what you've done, but since both the Zen Carts in my sig are in add-on domains, I know it can be done.

First, how are you installing this? If you're using Fantastico, stop and download a copy of Zen Cart and do the install manually. You'll need an FTP client like Filezilla or SmartFTP to do that.

If you haven't done so already, create a database for the Zen Cart and a user ID and password for it. You can do this through your webmaster panel. Make note of the database name, user ID and password. You'll need it later during the Zen Car install.

Your addon domain should also be a subdomain. In other words, it should have its own folder. If it's pointing to your primary domain, break that connection! It should point to the subdomain folder. You may have to wait a bit until the addon domain resolves to its folder.

Within that folder, create the estore folder and upload the Zen Cart folders and files to addon-domain/estore. Once that's done, type http://www.addon-domain/estore/zc_install in your browser. That'll start the installation procedure and it'll be where you want it.

It makes a big difference. Parked domains point only to the main domain. You can't separate them. You'll have to make the parked domain an subdomain (which can also be referred to as an addon domain). Otherwise, you can't do what you're trying to do.
