Default Integrating the cart with an existing website

I'm about ready to put our new zen cart in to production. We are a community pharmacy and have an existing website (www.porterranchpharmacy.com). What is the best or at least some ways of adding the shopping cart to the website? I always thought that we would just put an extra link on the web page to "online store" but perhaps there is another way. I'm also thinking how can we get the rest of the links for the web pages to appear on the cart?

    Thanks
    Patrick

You can just put an "online store" link on your current site. The difficulty with integrating an HTML site with a PHP e-commerce site is that if your customer leaves the cart and spends much time on the HTML pages, their session will time out and they will lose whatever is in their cart (unless they are logged in).

There is a Sidebox Anywhere mod that can let you show some Zen Cart content on the HTML pages.

The best solution long-term is to make your ZC home page and some other pages replicate the current contents, and have one system for the whole site.

Looking at what you currently have - Your best option is to make Zen Cart your site and including your current content with Zen Cart pages with the replacement/abandonment of what you have

I think I like the idea of having everything in Zen. Just for consistency sake. Now I just have to figure out how to put 5 or so static html pages and one secure form as pages in zen.

You can use EZ-pages for the static html. Take a peek at the Fan Odyssey site in my sig. I used EZ-pages to integrate information from the old site. Look under "Past Events".

This is what I"m going to do - thanks for the tip - I see you changed the title of the side box to past events - how is that done?

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.
