Table Rates

Hi,

I'm not sure if Table Rates are the right solution or not.

Basically, I need to set up shipping costs based on how many items they are purchasing:

Australia

1-4 items - $7.65
5-10 items - $10.00
11-15 items - $15.00

Overseas
1-4 items - $16.95
5-20 items - $25.50

I currently have one flat rate shipping per zone - Australia / Rest of World.

Would appreciate any pointers :-)

You should probably use "Per Item" shipping module.

Hi schoolboy,

I installed the "Per Item" shipping module and I can't see how that could work. It looks like it's got a base rate, ie. Handling Fee and then a nominal amount per item. I need the following:

Australia
1-4 items - $7.65
5-10 items - $10.00
11-15 items - $15.00

Overseas
1-4 items - $16.95
5-20 items - $25.50

The minimum postage is $7.65 so that would have to be my Handling Fee but then there's no way for it to know that the next level is 5 items when the cost should go up.

Any ideas?

Did you try Zone Rate zones Shipping Module?

This allows you to define by either Total, Weight or Item Count ... and you can set it up for Zones based on County Code ...

There is also a feature for Rest of the World using: 00 as the Country ...

If you do not see the option for 00 as Rest of the World, try to Remove, Install and Reconfigure Zone Rate as this is a new feature and upgrades will not show this unless you follow these steps ...

NOTE: when Removing any Module ... Shipping, Payment or Order Total ... always copy your existing settings to NotePad as the settings will be lost when you REMOVE the module ...

Thanks for your reply. I think I found what you mean (I had someone else set up this site for me).

I have:

Zone 1 countries: AU
Zone 1 shipping table: 999:6.95

Zone 2 countries: 00
Zone 2 shipping table: 999:16.95


So, I need to change these to this:

Zone 1 countries: AU
Zone 1 shipping table: 1:7.65,5:10.00,11:15.00

Zone 2 countries: 00
Zone 2 shipping table: 1:16.95,5:25.50

Hi Ajeh,

oops! oh no - not free shipping :-) 16 or 21 items? Not sure where you got those from. I think everything above 11 and 5 respectively we will contact and confirm postage - we have this written in our terms and noted at the checkout. So, have I got these around the right way?
