Everyone has their own list, and one experienced person's must-have may be irrelevant in another's.

What you first need to do is figure out what kind of layout/design/function you want. Then people can suggest ways to do those.

That said, many people find Image Handler 2 to be valuable for taking care of product images.
I personally don't have any published mods in my store (though there are a couple I may eventually add).

I have a ton of mods installed but some that effect more of the look/images would be:

    Image Handler 2
    Slimbox
    Column Layout Grid
    Category Drop Down Select Menu

Yeah I have so many mods I can't keep track.... Speaking of that, how do you guys keep track of which mods are installed/which files they overwrite. So when you go to install something else you know if you have a mod that already modified a file. I've been having a terrible time.

It's not enough just to keep track of installed mods - you also have to know which files you have personally modified.

The best way is to compare the list of files in the new mod with your template files. A pain perhaps, but the only completely safe way.
