Read Only Max Length is 64?

Trying to set up an option that is read-only. It is more than 64 chars and I'm getting cut off at 64, i.e. it won't let me enter more than that. I've tried to alter the max length of the option and in fact it's showing size: 128, max: 128 now in the Option Name Manager, but when I go to Option Value Manager to edit the value it still stops at 64.

I could do it with two... but one big attribute is better than two little ones ;-)

Is this hardwired and if so how do I rewire it?

Did you try to customize the table:
products_options

in phpMyAdmin and change the field:
products_options_comment

to 255 rather than 64 ...
